1- How do I measure my table?

  1. Measure your table top surface size, width & length for square & rectangular tables
  2. Measure your table top surface diameter for round tables
  3. Measure your table height
  4. Draw a sketch of your table with its dimensions as a visual aid, to help work out the correct size tablecloth required
  5. The use of a calculator may also be helpful

The drop determines how far your tablecloth hangs down from the table surface/edge. Most dining room tablecloths have a drop length between 15-30 cm (6-12 inches), no further than to the diner’s laps. A more formal dining tablecloth may reach all the way to the ground, as will a tablecloth intended to hide unattractive table legs. A good tip to help you visualise which drop length you prefer, hold a piece of fabric or paper hanging downward from the table’s edge. Place your chairs and other nearby furniture objects where they would be located on occasions when you would use this tablecloth. The final dimensions will include the drop length.

Overlock is stitching on the edge of your fabric.

Hem is where the fabric is folded to your chosen measurements and stitched to: 1 cm hem, 2.5 cm hem, 5 cm hem, 10 cm hem.

Express tablecloths Linen and textile fabric rolls are available in different widths. A larger size tablecloth, or custom made tablecloth may exceed our fabric width and require a join. More often than not the join can be placed on the side of the tablecloth so it is not visible on the table top, but on the drop down. In some cases more than one join will be needed. Our customer service team will contact you as soon as possible to discuss this. If the join has to be placed in the middle of the tablecloth you could always add a table runner to cover this. We have a wide range of fabrics, colours and styles to choose from. Please refer to the images to see examples of a join.

You can use wallpaper or wrapping paper that you have lying around the house.  You do not need to do the full table as half of your table will do.  Place the paper on your tabletop and place a weight on top of the paper  to stop it from moving, then you can either draw a line around the table top edge or cut the paper to size.
